Job Description

Summary

Under supervision, operates material handler, similar style to an excavator, as well as other Heavy Equipment including wheel loader and articulating dump truck. in a facility, unloading or loading trucks, semis, rail cars with material, sorting material in yard.

  • Unloads customer vehicles including small or medium trucks or semi-trailers
  • Sorts material in appropriate areas
  • Loads trucks and rail cars with scrap material
  • Ensures torch cutter is supplied with material to torch
  • Inspects all loads according to yard standards, ensuring rail cars and semi-trailers are safe to leave the yard
  • Inspects all inbound/outbound material
  • Greases and changes oil on machine. Handles minor maintenance duties on the crane.
  • Some hand sorting and labor also may be required
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
