1st Shift Shipping and Receiving Lead

Job Description

The Shipping Team lead is responsible for day-to-day processing orders for shipping; this includes but not limited to an array of duties: Team lead is responsible for creating required paperwork, contacting freight companies for order pickups; verifying that orders are picked up on a daily basis. Responsible for making sure all parts of the order are shipped and the details of the order are taken care of prior to the order being shipped. This entails working with inspection and the cleaning room to ensure that all outside services are completed (machining, x-rays, heat treat etc.) Team Lead will be responsible to ensure all documentation is complete and correct (certs, weld plates, expediting charges etc..); ensuring that all part overages are documented into inventory, properly tagged, entered via SWX and moved to the finished good inventory at the 5070 building. In addition:

 

· Must maintain shipping documents and procedural instructions for others to follow.

· Lead will maintain the inventory using SWX at the 5070 location. Inventory includes but is not limited to all materials, returns, metals, raw metals, empty totes, shipping material, manufacturing supplies etc....

· The lead will be responsible for managing company driver pickups and deliveries; efficient planning and scheduling supply orders as directed by purchasing, movement and collection of products to 3rd pay sources.

· Manages processes on the dock; making sure all procedures are followed; ex: PO are pulled from the file, compare to the packing slip and product prior to driver leaving the facility; ensuring that all packing slips are signed, dated, and delivered to the correct department. Verifying any item that arrives on the dock is imperative.

· Provide aid to the inspection and cleaning room to ensure that products are processed in a timely manner, ensuring that all items per order are accounted for and shipping; ensuring that all orders have proper documentation for certification and test results prior to orders being shipped to customer.

· Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or select preassembled containers. inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective pad; Covers and binds containers using appropriate materials.

Job Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent 2-4 years’ experience in logistic shipping including a thorough understanding of shipping and receiving processes.

Good time management skills, communicate well with others, read and write in English, must have proficient computer skills, organized, detail oriented and accuracy, must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment; must be able to adapt to change and prioritize multiple responsibilities; working knowledge of logistical software; Working knowledge of shipping freight companies.

 

Accuracy is a very important aspect of this position; must be able to perform duties with minimal errors; Must be able to work independently. Foundry, metals, stainless steel/brass related experience is a plus.

 

This list of duties and responsibilities are not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary to fulfill customer needs.
