CDL A/B TRUCK DRIVER- DIRECT HIRE

Job Description

Scrap yard located in Racine is looking ideally for a class A licensed driver but we will look at individuals with a class B license as well. 

First shift Monday- Friday Schedule!! OVERTIME available!! NO TOUCH Freight!! must have automatic/manual transmission work experience not just licensing or from training and minimum 1 yr commercial driving experience with no automatic truck restrictions on your license); For first month or two, you will be training at the Milwaukee facility, thereafter your position will be based out of Racine,  local runs only – home each night. Drivers do not manually load and unload material on the trucks – our trucks have hydraulics for loading / unloading. Hours are typically 6am-3pm M-F, with some additional OT available.  Candidate would also be eligible for drivers’ quarterly performance incentive of $400/quarter if we meet our goal for on-time pick-ups.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a heavy or tractor-trailer truck
  • Load and unload cargo
  • Properly track and document activity log
  • Report any issues or incidents to dispatch
  • Inspect truck before and after trip

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in truck driving or other related fields
  • Commercial driver's license
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Strong work ethic
