CNC Machinist / Set Up Operator first shift a privately held Milwaukee company that manufactures braking systems for the United States railroad industry is looking for a CNC Machine Set Up/Operator.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
1st shift: Monday through Thursday 7am-3:30pm; Friday 6am-2:30pm
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform daily machine startup and shutdown procedures on CNC machining equipment.
- Setup and operate CNC machining equipment; vertical and horizontal.
- Perform some machine alignment procedures and machine zero home procedures to keep equipment at peak operating performance.
· Able to troubleshoot machine problems.
· Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistance.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- 3 or more years of CNC machine operating experience.
- Able to work independently with dedication to quality.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Basic ability to read and understand blueprints, measuring devices and other shop drawing aids.
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic parts, fittings and assemblies.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement.
- Excellent attendance and a positive, “can do” attitude.
THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- CNC programming experience. Gibbs cam a plus.
