Job Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems in a press and wood fabrication manufacturing environment. This role ensures equipment up time and supports production efficiency through preventive and emergency maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance on press machines, fabrication equipment, and facility systems
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
  • Maintain documentation of maintenance activities and equipment history
  • Assist in equipment upgrades and rebuilds
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Assist in equipment upgrades and rebuilds.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Operate and maintain hand and power tools safely.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Manager, production and engineering teams to minimize downtime.
  • Support facility maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and general repairs
  • Use of forklift and lift trucks
  • Welding and fabricating as needed
  • Organization planning and project management
  • Work independently or as a team to accomplish goals
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; previous experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial environment preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of CNC machine operation principles and procedures, troubleshooting automated loading and unloading equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively with coworkers, and communicate effectively with supervisors.
  • Knowledge of automation equipment including Ladder Logic and PLC
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks, including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Flexibility to work in different areas of the manufacturing facility and adapt to changing priorities and tasks.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as needed.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Follow written and oral instructions
  • Clean driving record

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate machinery and perform tasks requiring precision.
  • Stamina and endurance to work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Good vision and hearing to detect equipment malfunctions and respond promptly.
  • Bending, twisting, walking, squatting with up to 50lbs of weight from ground level work in heat or cold conditions
