Production Supervisor (1st shift)

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: The production supervisor is responsible for overseeing part of a business operation.  With a focus on safety, leadership, problem solving and teamwork this position will organize and direct the team that is responsible for meeting daily production goals.   In addition, the production supervisor will identify areas for opportunity and organize training and development opportunities for the team, with a focus on retention and employee engagement. 

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

·         3 years of experience in a manufacturing or comparable work environment with an emphasis in assembly operations.

·         3 years of experience supervising and leading teams that are responsible for meeting daily performance goals  

·         Proficient in using Microsoft Office Applications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience using Syteline or equivalent ERP system

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

·         Communicate daily goals and monitor progress of the team on a daily basis

·         Oversee assembly, paint and trim operations and manage workflow through the facility

·         Organize, monitor and prioritize tasks to meet production goals

·         Collaborate with leaders in other departments to help resolve daily challenges

·         Organize training materials and facilitate developmental ramp up plans in assembly

·         Facilitate growth opportunities for members of assembly team

·         Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback  

·         Maintain open lines of communication between employees and leadership  

·         Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new hires 

·         Communicate on a daily basis with direct reports

·         Drive employee engagement   

·         Respond to and investigate any employee concerns in a timely manner

·         Assure compliance of company policies and safety regulations with employees

·         Audit product and processes to ensure conformance to specifications

·         Partner with HR/Safety team to investigate and resolve any corrective measures

·         Provide feedback, coaching and recognition to direct reports in the areas of safety, job knowledge, quality, productivity and reliability

·         All other duties and projects as assigned

Level of Independence: This position has a high degree of autonomy on a daily basis and will report directly to the Director of Operations.   

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee will regularly be working inside the manufacturing plant and is required to walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds for extended periods of time.   This position will also stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work, which will require periods of sitting, ability to adjust vision and focus.
